For Some, the Work Never Stops

blog 2. Jennifer, eggsWe quickly got back to work in Uganda. We were checking with the committee of one of the springs and were happy to see that everyone from the committee was doing their part to make sure that the spring lasted. Through this meeting, we met a woman named Jennifer who was a village elder. She was so appreciative for access to a clean water source that she insisted that we visit her home. We were absolutely honoured and had a lovely time.  While we were leaving to go check up on other projects, I saw out of the corner of my eye that Jennifer was also leaving. Ready for another day in the fields, she headed out with a hoe over her shoulder and an ageless resilience in her eyes. I don’t think I’ll ever have the grit and dedication that Jennifer has. Despite her age, she still cares so much about her community and is willing to work endless hours to make it even better. It’s a privilege to give such worthy people, like Jennifer, a helping hand.
