When Ryan Hreljac was just six years old, he learned of the great need for clean and safe water in developing countries and decided to take action. With the support of friends, family and his community, Ryan successfully raised enough money to build a well in Africa.

Just-Us Youth Day
November 5th 2019
The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario is hosting its annual Just-Us Youth Day, a symposium for nearly 250 Grade 10 students from across the Board’s ten secondary schools. The day gives students an opportunity to learn about the good work being done by not-for-profit organizations and individuals committed to social justice initiatives. Each year the presentations are developed around a theme; this year’s theme is “Water for All”. Ryan Hreljac and Project Coordinator, Keely Noiles will be facilitating workshops where students will learn about the planning involved in building water infrastructures. They’ll need to consider their budget, the terrain where they want to build the infrastructure as well as other important considerations that we and our local partners have to evaluate when we do our work.
Sonny’s Bar and Grill Fundraiser in Support of Ryan’s Well

Sonny’s Bar and Grill in Ottawa will be having a bake sale in the morning and a live band in the evening. There will also be lots of games for people to enjoy. Ryan will be in attendance and hopes to see you there! The restaurant is located at 1119 Baxter Rd, Ottawa.
Presenting to Students at Instituto La Asuncion in Mexico City

Project Coordinator, Keely Noiles will be presenting to students at Instituto La Asuncion in Mexico City. She will share Ryan’s story, how the Foundation has provided over one million people with clean water and what projects we’re pursuing in Mexico now and into the future! Keely is so excited to meet all of the students and other attendees.
Young Leaders in Civil Society
November 11th 2019
Project Coordinator, Keely Noiles will be the keynote speaker at the first Youth Meeting: Here we are! Young Leaders in Civil Society, which will be held on the framework of the Annual Meeting of the Mexican Center for Philanthropy, A.C. (Cemefi). The event is held to create a meeting point to discuss the role of young people in civil society, generate links and connect experiences. It will lay the foundations for concrete actions that will drive new dynamics in the way we impact society. More than 100 young leaders of civil society in foundations and organizations, companies, public officials, academics and students will be in attendance.
Fifth Annual International Education Info-fair
November 12th 2019
Ryan’s Well will be attending the Fifth Annual International Education Info-fair Ottawa-Carleton Education Network (OCENET) International Certificate Program (ICP) as an a exhibitor and Ryan will also be delivering the conference keynote! This global citizenship initiative gives students direct access to intercultural opportunities at the local, national and international levels. We’re excited to see and help all the high school students from Ottawa looking to get involved in issues they care about!
Feltre High School Assembly
November 16th, 2019
Ryan will be speaking at a high school assembly in Feltre Italy accompanied by Sara. Sara is a teenager who was inspired by the Ryan’s Well story and raised funds to drill a well in Uganda. She has now gone on to inspire her family and peers to raise funds to drill another well! Ryan is excited to share his experience with Sara and other Italian students on what keeps him motivated with the Ryan’s Well Foundation mission.
Child Water Ambassadors

Child Water Ambassadors is an event put on by Insieme si Può (Together We Can) at the theatre in the city of Belluno, Italy where Ryan will be speaking to hundreds of passionate youth and parents. This event aims to celebrate the effort and the path of children who took part in fund raisers to help Insieme si Può’s water initiatives, thanking them for their effort, and expressing that you’re never too young to change the world!
Technical High School Assembly in Belluno

Ryan will be speaking at the school assembly at a technical high school in Belluno, Italy. Ryan will also be accompanied by Zaira, a young university student who found inspiration in the Ryan’s Well story to help fund raise for her own water project. Ryan will be speaking about his story along with the technical aspects of well drilling and the Ryan’s Well Foundation’s project work..
“Contagious Water”, Empowerment Talk in Pedavena

Ryan will be presenting at an event in Pedavena, Italy along with local non-profit associations, civil servants and political leaders. The title for the event is “Contagious Water”, a Italian pun translation meaning that a positive contagion can have an amazing impact and reach. Ryan will be speaking about how one action can have a ripple effect that can lead to positive change all over the world!
Presentation and Meet and Greet in San Carlo

Ryan will be meeting with and giving a presentation for the public of San Carlo (Torino, Italy). Ryan will be speaking along with Insieme si Può echoing their message about how together we can make a huge difference and discussing concepts such as volunteerism and global service. Ryan will be sharing his 22 years of experience volunteering and fundraising for water projects.
Georges Vanier Catholic School

Ryan’s will be presenting in the community of Beaverbrook, Ontario to Georges Vanier Catholic School who will be fund raising for Ryan’s Well! Ryan is excited to come motivate youth at the school to get involved in the world and give back!
