Water for Alebtong District, Uganda

It’s always such an amazing thing when our donors make it possible for us to build and expand on project work! Sustainability has been a top priority since Ryan’s Well began, and once again you’ve made it possible for a community to look forward to clean water well into the future.

By donating, you will make possible:

• Seven shallow wells
• Pump technical training for 20 pump mechanics
• WASH training
• Community mobilization
• Local monitoring and evaluation

The work began last year in Omoro Sub-County with our seasoned partner Divine Waters Uganda. With their expertise, we’ll build on the wells and training completed in the last project; concentrating our work in a very underserviced location in northern Uganda. Extensive pump mechanic training will ensure that local people gain the necessary skills to maintain the many established wells in the area.

Extensive WASH training will take place with 90 Water Source Committees within Alebtong District. The project will be implemented over a period of 12 months, and will directly impact a minimum of five thousand people in six communities.

The overarching goal: to increase the health and well-being of the population in each area. Community empowerment and community restoration among the rural population ensures the commitment to rebuild after years of war that had destroyed the basic infrastructure in this location.
