Ryan’s first well was drilled in Northern Uganda at Angolo Primary School by CPAR. Since then, Ryan’s Well has had a very close relationship with CPAR, and we are excited to be working together once again! We have partnered to address the needs of staff and patients at Fitche hospital, located within Degem district in Central Ethiopia.
What will the funds raised support?
- It will address the lack of adequate water supply by connecting Fitche Hospital to the nearby municipal water source
- Ensure that the existing water sources is able to act as a back up during power outages
- Replace malfunctioning plumbing lines, wash basins, toilets and showers within the hospital
- Train hospital staff on maintenance and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) practices
WASH interventions, such as accessing clean water, hand washing with soap at critical times and environmental sanitation are critical for health outcomes through the prevention of infection and disease. Health focuses on increasing access, coverage, quality and efficiency of critical health services, with particular emphasis on maternal, newborn and child health. Thus, by focusing on health and maternity clinics, both CPAR and Ryan’s Well look to improve overall health and well-being of the most vulnerable populations, and will directly impact 6,370 people.
