Inspirational students write their own books

Kitchener ESL teacher Monica Petrus sent us an amazing story! Her new Canadian students from a variety of coublog1ntries needed to acquire basic literacy and numeracy skills, even while trying to fit into a new education system and culture.

These imaginative young people wrote their own resources, based on their interests and cultural backgrounds, and six books relate to the school's fundraising project for Ryan's Well! We are so honoured. Read all about it in the blog!

The lives you touch

From now until Ryan returns to his well this May, we'll be presenting this series of photos and stories of people in developing countries; their real lives, and how much africayour help has mattered.

From Uganda...the old woman on the left who is caring for the child said that moving long distances to fetch water has become too hard for her. On the days she does manage to reach the site, the water has been dirtied by animals. She prays to God for a new water source. Thanks to you, her prayers have been answered and she and her neighbors can now enjoy clean water from a new shallow well.
